Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition and Telecommunications, and Franck Lebeugle, Director of Standardization Activities at Afnor, will initiate the French Metavers standardization commission on Wednesday February 22, the association announced on Wednesday February 15. The event, open to all upon registration, will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.
The design of the future voluntary standard, which will be co-constructed following the consultation, within the French Metavers standardization commission aims to "define a framework of trust" in relation to the metaverse. “ Successor to the Internet, it is in the process of profoundly modifying social relations, digital identities, market interactions, consumption habits, and even the relationship of users to public spaces. It also rises ethical and legal questions,” describes the press release.
In addition to Jean-Noël Barrot and Franck Lebeugle, several personalities will intervene during this launch: Jacques Baranger, member of the Observatoire des Métavers, Béatrice Œuvrard, director of public policy for Meta France, Rémy Ozcan, president of the French Federation blockchain professionals and Camille Kroely, Metavers & Web3 Group Director, at L'Oréal.
