The singer of Nigerian origin Yemi Alade will be the president of the jury for the Découvertes RFI 2022 prize this year, France Médias Monde radio announced on Thursday, November 3. Since 1981, this award has highlighted and supported new musical talents from the African continent.
Ayam (Madagascar), Black AD (Mali), Garçin Lagacéd (Gabon), Greg Burkimbila (Burkina Faso), Lukas Luna (DRC), Magdaline Mytil (Haiti), Masterland (Burundi), Niino MD (Senegal), Queen Rima (Guinea) and Tripa Gninnin (Ivory Coast) are the 10 finalists of this edition.
They will be submitted to the vote of a jury, but also to that of the public who can vote now and until November 16 on musique.rfi.fr/prix-decouvertes/vote. The name of the winner will be announced on Friday, November 18 during a program presented by Juliette Fiévet and Claudy Siar, broadcast on Facebook Live. The winner will benefit from a prize of 10,000 euros, a tour of Africa and a concert in Paris.
The Découvertes RFI prize is organized in partnership with the Institut français, the International Organization of La Francophonie, the Orange Foundation and Ubiznews.
