The Ministry of Culture has launched a public consultation on the opening and reuse of cultural public data, it announced on Tuesday, December 6. Open until February 6, it "aims to collect the needs and comments of users concerning the data sets already open on data.culture.gouv.fr and data.gouv.fr, and those that intend to be opened," according to the press release. Rue de Valois also wants to improve its quality (update frequency, contextualization, etc.).

Alongside the inter-ministerial portal data.gouv.fr, created in 2011, the Ministry of Culture set up the data.culture.gouv.fr platform in December 2016. Bringing together data relating in particular to cultural institutions and facilities (cinemas, etc.), economic aspects and cultural events (festivals, etc.), it also offers iconographic resources. The platform is intended to be "a space for promoting its digital cultural resources (cartography, graphics, table) for all citizens, researchers, students, journalists, and also, developers and companies thanks in particular to the integrated APIs."
