The European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO), under the Portuguese presidency in 2023, is organizing in Lisbon on June 6 a free conference on the European and Portuguese cinematographic sector entitled “New trends and risks in the European cinema sector? Perspective of small and medium markets”, it announced, Friday, May 5. Remember that in 2023, the Portuguese presidency of the EAO is represented by Marta Sousa, in charge of legal and international affairs at the Instituto do Cinema e do audiovisual.
In particular, an overview of current European trends will be presented, before zooming in on the Portuguese national industry and its specificities, the challenges encountered as well as national public support initiatives and the repercussions of European cultural policies on Portuguese national cinema, it is specified.
