Cannes 2023: the six participants of the Festival Residence revealed

The six participants of the 2023 edition of the Cannes Film Festival Residence were announced on Wednesday May 10. For 4 and a half months (from March 1 to July 15), they are welcomed to write their first or second feature film, and will participate in the Festival from May 16 to 22. The winners were Laura Samani (Italy), Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan (Philippines), Diana Mashanova (Buriatia), Mohammadreza Mayghani (Iran), Tang Yi (China) and Morad Mostafa (Egypt).

Since its creation in 2000, the Cannes Film Festival residence has welcomed more than 250 filmmakers with their scripts, including Son of Saul by László Nemes (Grand Prix at Cannes in 2015, Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film in 2016), Girl by Lukas Dhont (Caméra d'or in 2018) and Alcarràs by Carla Simón (Golden Bear in 2022). The next session of the Festival residency will be held in Paris from October 1 to February 15, 2024.
