Angoulême Comic Book Festival/Shoot the Book!: the 10 books selected for the 2023 edition

The ten books selected for the 2023 edition of Shoot The Book!, organized with Scelf as part of the International Rights Market (Marché international des droits, MID) of the Angoulême International Comic Book Festival (Festival international de la bande dessinée d’Angoulême), were unveiled on Thursday, January 5. These works will be pitched by their publishers to producers on Wednesday, January 25, with a chance of a possible adaptation on the screens.

The selection includes the following titles: Armen 43 by Briac (Locus Solus),Géants aux pieds d’argile by Alain Chevarier and Mark McGuire (Moelle Graphik), Hound Dog by Nicolas Pegon (Denoël Graphic), La Bibliomule de Cordoue by Wilfrid Lupano and Léonard Chemineau (Dargaud), Le Ciel pour conquête by Yudori (Delcourt), Les Aventures du roi singe by Stéphane Melchior and Vincent Sorel (Gallimard BD), Les Enquêtes polar de Philippine Lomar by Dominique Zay, Greg Blondin and Dawid (La Gouttière), Masks by Joël Jurion and Kid Toussaint (Le Lombard), Mauvais Monstre by Enzo Berkati (Glénat), and Paris 2119 by Zep and Dominique Bertail (Rue de Sèvres).

The jury for this second edition is made up of Sarah Hemar (Unifrance), Camille Serceau (Superprod), Cédric Pilot (Mediawan kids & family), Virginie Duquenois (Samka Productions), Alexis Hofmann (Bac Films) and Deborah Kaufmann (Legendary Entertainment).
